Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Lead Functional Skills Tutor to oversee and ensure high-quality delivery of Functional Skills in English and Mathematics. This role combines teaching responsibilities with leadership, focusing on supporting tutors, maintaining compliance, and driving excellence in program delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver high-quality Functional Skills lessons in English and Maths, tailored to individual learner needs.
* Oversee the quality and effectiveness of Functional Skills programs, supporting tutors to maintain consistent standards.
* Ensure compliance with awarding body requirements and external verification processes.
* Conduct regular quality assurance checks on lesson plans, assessments, and delivery methods.
* Provide constructive feedback and development opportunities to Functional Skills tutors.
* Act as the primary point of contact for the tutor, stakeholders, and external verifiers, ensuring smooth communication and support.
* Maintain accurate records of learner progress and ensure safeguarding protocols are followed.
* Contribute to the development of curriculum resources to enhance learning experiences.
Skills & Qualifications:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with a focus on English and Maths.
* Proven experience teaching and assessing Functional Skills at Entry Level to Level 2.
* Strong knowledge of curriculum standards and external verification processes.
* Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
* Commitment to safeguarding and maintaining learner well-being.
* Access to a stable internet connection and a suitable workspace for remote delivery.
* Ability to travel to client sites as needed.
Advantageous:
* Experience working with known awarding bodies such as NCFE or City and Guilds.
* Proven track record of high success pass rate.
* Experience with Ofsted framework.
* Solid experience of co-ordination of learners' deliveries via e-Portfolio.
