Do you have experience in a Manufacturing/Production Planner capacity? Do you consider yourself to be IT Literate, proactive and holding a keen eye for detail? Are you based in or around Shotton?
TATA's Shotton works are responsible for delivering 500,000 tonnes of metallic coated and pre-finished steel per year to a variety of customers. The successful applicant will be someone that has a high attention to detail and is customer focused, methodical and has previously worked in a planner role.
Role - Production Planner
Pay - £26,500 per annum, £13.59ph
Location - TATA Steel, Shotton Works, Shotton Records Centre, Deeside CH5 2NH (initially 100% office based, then Tue/Wed/Fri office based and Mon/Fri remote)
Shift pattern - Mon-Thu 08:30-17:00 and Fri 08:30-16:00, 37.5 hours per week
Duration - 6 months initially with the view to extend
Responsibilities:
1. Pre-plan shipments referencing the Master Production schedule.
2. Arrange logistics and shipping, including packing of products.
3. Expedite and reroute shipments as necessary, providing proof of delivery to customers.
4. Monitor costs against supplier invoices.
5. Resolve invoice queries promptly and effectively.
6. Use planning tools and software systems accurately.
7. Work closely with stakeholders to maintain and improve service standards.
8. Identify failures against plans and deliveries, and recommend resolutions.
9. Identify potential peaks in customer demand and propose corrective actions.
10. Liaise with third-party logistics providers and shipping lines.
11. Support Customer Service and Commercial teams to ensure product availability and delivery.
12. Ensure transport activities are undertaken effectively, including those by third-party providers.
13. Provide weekly, monthly, and ad hoc reports on customer and trend analysis.
14. Communicate daily with Production Managers via telephone and email.
15. Use MS Excel at an intermediate level, including formulas, VLOOKUP, and pivot tables.
16. Adhere to UK Health and Safety Legislation at all times.
17. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the department.
Experience needed:
1. Experience in Supply Chain, Planning, or Scheduling roles.
2. Ability to operate with minimal supervision.
3. Strong IT skills, including MS Office, especially Excel.
4. Experience with in-house IT systems.
5. Confident telephone manner.
6. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
7. Excellent interpersonal skills.
8. Experience with SAP (desirable).
