We are seeking a Mechanical Maintenance A Technician to join our team!
This is a full-time, union-hourly position located in Lancaster, PA. Hours are Monday - Friday 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM with overtime from 4:00 AM - 2:30 PM.
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
* Repairs machinery and mechanical equipment. Troubleshoots equipment to diagnose problems; dismantles the equipment completely or in part and performs necessary repairs using hand tools to replace broken or defective parts with items obtained from stock or by ordering the proper items from the supplier. Reassembles equipment, making adjustments to ensure proper operation.
* Installs and repairs simple electrical equipment such as switches, receptacles, motors, and simple conduct systems using electricians' hand tools. May assist Electrical Maintenance A on more complex electrical maintenance tasks.
* Reads blueprints of machinery and equipment to determine the location of machinery parts and their proper adjustments. Capable of producing parts from blueprints.
* Builds jigs and fixtures as required.
* Keeps buildings and structures in repair.
* Installs and repairs piping systems such as water, steam, and compressed air using plumbers’ tools and equipment.
* Makes repair parts as needed using machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, and drill presses. Uses micrometers and other standard measuring instruments to work to specified tolerances to ensure proper fit and operation of the repair part.
* Installs machinery and equipment including rigging, moving, placement, and leveling of equipment prior to its hookup for operation.
Qualifications/Requirements:
* High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); and 2-4 years of formal trades training.
* Proficient in blueprint reading.
* Experience using a variety of precision measuring instruments.
* Basic computer skills.
* Valid PA Driver's License.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception.
