My client is one of the UK's leading residential developers, and they are in search of a permanent Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team on one of their new flagship projects. The project consists of 500 new build residential units split over 10 blocks, all RC Frame. The project is due for completion in 2031.
The ideal candidate will have a housebuilding background and have been responsible for overseeing a site as lead previously. This position is suitable for a candidate looking to move up to Senior Surveyor or who has recently moved up to a Senior Surveyor. Ideally, the candidate will have experience of multi-phase sites with large infrastructure packages such as remediation, demolition, and cut and fill.
Specific Duties:
1. Contribute and/or take responsibility for cost reporting.
2. Propose and submit a change order with suitable backup and evidence.
3. Identify a potential problem, propose a solution, and present it to their line manager.
4. Manage a R&O register.
5. Manage the whole life cycle of a contract from tender to final account.
6. Demonstrate attention to detail on challenging subcontract variation claims.
7. Demonstrate the ability to lead others within the team.
8. Demonstrate the ability to communicate with external third parties such as employers' agents (where applicable).
9. Take responsibility for the full suite of packages.
10. Chair high-risk review meetings with relevant personnel.
11. Demonstrate the ability to deal with a prolongation claim from a subcontractor.
12. Demonstrate the ability to oversee an infrastructure package and produce and monitor a subcontract TES in line with the programme.
