The Opportunity
With Health & Safety being our number one priority at Caterpillar, the Health & Safety Coach will have an important role in supporting our expressed vision to build a culture where everyone’s behaviour supports a safe environment within a successful and sustainable business. You will play a key part in supporting our health and safety improvement programme and be expected to advise, encourage and train colleagues to work safely.
The Caterpillar Building Construction Products' fabrication facility at Stockton uses the latest technology to cut, weld and machine all the major structures for use at the assembly plant at Leicester.
As a Health and Safety Coach, you are accountable for, but not limited to:
1. Provide one-on-one or team coaching on health, safety, and environmental issues.
2. Offer hands-on support for workplace improvement programs, including Rapid Improvement Workshops, new equipment introductions, and area relocations.
3. Assist supervisors in completing risk assessments, investigating incidents, and delivering training packages.
4. Participate in health, safety, and environmental meetings, including Department Safety and CI meetings.
An individual training programme will be established depending on the needs of the candidate, which could include specific training to carry out the job role, i.e., train the trainer, Risk Assessment, Accident Investigation.
What You Can Demonstrate:
1. Health & Safety: Proactively raise safety-related CI cards and participate in H&S meetings.
2. People: Confidently deliver training while coaching and mentoring employees.
3. Communication: Strong written and oral communication skills for delivering training and more.
4. Time Management: Effectively organize and manage your own workload.
