Job summary
We are recruiting for a Registered Nurse Radiotherapy Outpatients who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.
Our outpatient department is across three separate areas with a busy procedure room undertaking a range of clinical duties. There is also opportunity to support other areas across the cancer centre, Radiotherapy, Acute Oncology Service and wards.
The outpatients department is open Monday to Friday.
Mount Vernon Cancer Centre is a well-respected, non-surgical cancer centre based in Northwood in Middlesex - providing chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and immunotherapy treatments to over 5,000 patients a year. It is currently run by East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust (ENHT) and consistently receives positive patient feedback.
In addition, you will receive a High-Cost Area Supplement of 15% of your basic salary, subject to a minimum payment of £4,314 and a maximum payment of £5,436 per annum pro rata.

Main duties of the job
You will be responsible for delivering a high standard of care to all patients and visitors within the Mount Vernon Cancer Centre.
Taking an active role in improving the patient experience and working towards achieving excellence in patient focused initiatives such as infection control and prevention, patient safety, privacy and dignity and the productive ward.
Supporting and advising regarding specific treatments or nursing practices and signpost on where required.
You will be responsible for co-coordinating overall care in the appropriate clinical area in the absence of the Team Leader or Ward Manager.
Actively create a learning environment and support education and training of qualified and unqualified staff and to participate in the development of nursing practice.
To be aware of QUIPP initiatives/resource management and to consider cost effectiveness throughout practice. To have a comprehensive understanding of risk management and governance issues.
