CNC Mill/Turn Programmer - Hemel Hempstead - Up to £50,000/year + OT
There is now a fantastic opportunity to join our Aerospace client in Hemel Hempstead as a CNC Mill/Turn team leader. You will be manufacturing parts for clients such as Rolls Royce, Eaton, Collins Aerospace, Safran Power Systems, Meggitt and many more.
The role will have a focus on small to medium batch with medium to high complexity. The primary focus of this position is to lead the Mill/Turn team, leveraging new CMZ Mill/Turn technology, to produce new methods of manufacture for our customer’s cutting edge designs.
Responsibilities:
* Working with Planning, Quality and other teams on NPI to develop manufacturing methods for our customer’s designs. This includes prototype and repeat work
* Programming, Setting & Operating CNC Mill/Turn machines and other machines within the Turning area to produce components to customer specification. Typical tolerances of +/- .001” (0.025mm) and occasional tolerances of +/- .0005” (0.0125 mm)
* Ensure accurate job timings are recorded within the Company’s ERP system, Javelin and scanning on and off jobs.
* Maintain 6s standards within the shop floor
* Look for continuous improvement opportunities- improving processes with small tweaks or complete re-engineering.
Experience and Skill Required:
* Previous Aerospace experience or similar is required.
* Competent in offline programming CMZ Mill/Turn machines and Takisawa CNC Turning machines, using Fanuc controls.
* Previous experience of working with a range of materials i.e., Stainless Steel, Nylon, Titanium, Inconel & Aluminium to typical tolerance of +/- .001” (0.025mm) and occasional tolerances of +/- .0005” (0.0125 mm) in line with customer specifications.
* Either apprentice trained or qualified by experience
* Edge Cam Programming would be a distinct advantage
