The department The Real Estate Investment Team at Birketts is expanding its core team We are seeking a Legal Administrator to come and join us. Together, as a collaborative firm, we have close to 1000 people working with us and we are ranked highly in the Legal 500 across all areas we practice in. Our Real Estate Investment team is dedicated to acting for some of the most prestigious and sophisticated real estate investors globally. Accountabilities Playing an important role within the Real Estate Investment team you will be responsible for: File opening including checking compliance requirements, setting up paper and e-files and folders, conflict searches obtaining title documents, Land Registry searches, Companies House documentation Preparation of client care correspondence and documentation in accordance with our firm’s compliance requirements and client service level arrangements To be proficient in a variety of software packages such as Microsoft Word and Excel to produce correspondence, documents and spreadsheets Preparation of Land Registry applications and dealing with any requisitions raised following completion (including form preparation, scanning and uploading of documentation and correspondence); File closing in accordance with our client’s requirements and compliance standards Scheduling and managing deeds to ensure records are kept up to date. The candidate The role would suit an ambitious and highly efficient administrator, who enjoys working as part of a team to help provide professional support to a group of fee earners and the wider fee lawyers. You will be enthusiastic and well organised individual with a positive attitude and excellent communication skills. Excellent IT ability will be required, with good knowledge of MS Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook) You will have strong time management skills, able to manage a varied workload and work efficiently and effectively under pressure and to deadlines Show initiative when responding to queries and actively try to seek solutions to problems To support and build working relationships with your own fee earners as well as other members of the team and to actively work for the interests of the whole team To support and build working relationships with your colleagues in the team and to actively get involved in working activities within the team.
