The Vacancy We have an exciting opportunity for a Business Development Director, with CAN Structures - a growing, energetic and friendly company based in our Chesterfield office. Working closely with other CAN business development staff to maximise opportunities and manage shared resource within both businesses. Undertaking other tasks as required by the Board or RSK Group's senior management. Responsibilities: Lead management and development of marketing within CAN including EOI / PQQ process and marketing initiatives to raise CAN profile both within RSK and external market-place. Lead management and development of sales within CAN including ECI, assessment and allocation of enquiries, over-sight of tender process, post-tender discussions and negotiations with view to mitigate exposure to commercial risk and maximise potential margin. Work closely with operations and commercial department at handover stage and assist with project management and commercial team as and when necessary. Recruitment, retention, training and development of sales and marketing personnel in conjunction with RSK and CAN HR Director. Liaise with RSK group businesses on all sales and marketing issues, initiatives and forums. Board level authority in line with articles of agreement. Tendering and expenditure authorisation in accordance with current published signing limits. Detailed follow-up on potential new markets with Board approval only Lead on the production of a Business Development Plan and sales targets, to be approved by the board Raise CAN’s profile by deepening relationships with existing clients and developing new client relationships Bring details of new market sector / service offering proposals to the board for discussion Identify market trends, opportunities and risks and feedback to the board on a regular basis Build strong relationships with RSK business development teams at group level and within other business units, assist with intra group sales and development opportunities as appropriate and raise CAN’s profile within the group Work in the best interests of the CAN group and RSK and maintain a strong level of cooperation across CAN Geotechnical and Structures business development teams Assess the ongoing effectiveness of business development plans and strategies. Oversee the production and design of CAN company-specific marketing materials, digital and otherwise Work closely with operational leads to constantly ensure marketing materials are relevant and to review their effectiveness. Raise the company profile by exploiting new marketing opportunities Develop and secure CAN’s digital presence, including SEO Co-ordinate and utilise shared sales and marketing resource Identify and act on marketing opportunities within the RSK group and externally Lead on the management and development of CAN’s internal marketing systems, working with IT as appropriate Assess the effectiveness of marketing strategies. Experience and Qualifications: Minimum 5 years experience in a sales or business development role, within the Construction industry. Bachelor’s degree in engineering. Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth. Experience in a leadership role. Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills. Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. Self-motivated and results-oriented. Strong organisational and time management skills. Willingness to travel.
