We’re looking for an Apprentice and Training Lead to join our Store Service Centre in Nottingham. Within this role you’ll be responsible for designing, delivering, and managing technical training programmes to enhance the skills, knowledge, and professional growth of the engineering function. Within this role you’ll ensure that we align with industry best practices and evolving technical requirements, ensuring that we’re on top every step of the way. This role will also include line management of our Engineering Apprentices too, so having a passion for mentoring and supporting with career growth and development is key Apprenticeship Programme Management – Leadership of functions apprenticeship programme including apprentice management, development and programme structure. Building and managing strong relationships with education providers and evaluating course outcomes to ensure maximum added value to both apprentice and company. Delivery of Training – Conduct engaging in-person and virtual training sessions for the engineering function at various skill levels. Competency Frameworks – Develop and maintain competency models to assess and track technical skills and growth. Training Material Creation – Develop high-quality training resources such as manuals, e-learning content, and workshops. Continuous Improvement – Evaluate training effectiveness through feedback, assessments, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to enhance learning initiatives. What you’ll need to have Technical Expertise – Substantial automation experience with an equally strong knowledge of engineering principles, processes, and best practices. Training & Facilitation – Experience in designing and delivering technical training sessions. Instructional Design and Development – Ability to create engaging learning materials, including e-learning and hands-on training. As well as being able to design structured learning pathways and competency frameworks. Coaching & Mentorship – Guides engineers in career and skill development. Stakeholder Engagement – Works with leadership, subject matter experts, and key stakeholders to align training with business goals. Evaluation & Metrics – Measures the effectiveness of training initiatives and identifies areas for improvement.
