Instrument Co Ordinator, Band 3. Rugby Theatres.
An exciting opportunity to join our team at Rugby as an Instrument Co Ordinator.
The role requires planning of Instrument provision to ensure all Theatres are adequately resourced to meet the needs of our busy Service.
Working closely with Sterile Services and our small friendly team of Instrument coordinators, you will be responsible for checking and putting away Instruments that are regularly delivered. You will work with the Clinical Team to plan ahead to ensure the correct Instrumentation is available and set up ready for Surgery on a daily basis. In addition to this, you will arrange loan instrumentation when required, order equipment and consumables, and perform a range of other duties to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of Service.

Main duties of the job
Organises, schedules, and co-ordinates the daily instruments/equipment required to ensure that all Theatres are adequately resourced to meet performance objectives and standards. This includes manually lifting instrument trays delivered from Sterile Services, checking the integrity of instrument trays, date checking, and preparing instruments for surgical operations. Additionally, you will accurately put away instruments in designated storerooms.
Work with Clinical Leads to plan for operating lists. Liaise with the Theatre Team, Clinicians, Reps, secretaries, and Instrument Coordinator in GFT and Main as necessary to plan lists, arrange loans, and facilitate any special equipment or consumables requested.
Ensure safe delivery of service by adhering to policies and processes relating to the sterilization, decontamination processing, and distribution of surgical and medical supplies and equipment.

Job responsibilities
Provide the first point of direct contact for all service users, resolve routine enquiries and complaints professionally in accordance with local standards and procedures, and refer other queries to relevant colleagues where appropriate.
Attend relevant departmental meetings and contribute to continuous service development.
Coordinate and process loan/hire equipment, ensuring correct processes are followed and documentation is completed.
Collate information generated by others to maintain computerised patient information systems and ensure that records are accurately recorded and updated as required. Provide accurate data as requested by other members of the multidisciplinary team.
Order and goods receive equipment and consumables. Order stationery and ad hoc items as required. Collate and file documentation to ensure an organised, efficient, and robust system.
As appropriate to the position, participate in the development of operational goals and objectives for the Department.
