Here at Principal Resourcing, we are seeking to appoint a confident and enthusiastic Leader of Science for Key Stage 3 on a full-time basis. The position is expected to commence September 2025 and has the potential to become permanent for the right applicant. The inclusive Secondary School based in Castleford is proud to offer a challenging and well-balanced curriculum for students aged 11-19 years. Part of the Castleford Academy Trust, they challenge and support staff and students to achieve their full potentials through effective support, high-quality teaching and excellent pastoral input. They are seeking a talented practitioner to work collaboratively with the Leader of Science to develop colleagues in delivering outstanding lessons and develop the Science curriculum, raising academic achievement and ensuring all pupils make outstanding progress. We welcome applications from experienced Teachers, you can expect to earn up to £230 per day depending on experience.
The ideal applicant will:
* Be able to inspire pupils of all abilities within Science to achieve their highest potential across Key Stage 3.
* Be able to lead a team of high achieving specialists.
* Be able to confidently manage behaviour throughout Key Stage 3 within the department.
* Be committed to delivering consistently outstanding teaching and ability to share your practice with others in a constructive and collaborative manner.
* Contribute to the strategic development of the department by implementing new initiatives, monitoring and reporting on key outcomes, to ensure the department meets academic targets.
* Be responsible and accountable for pupil attainment and achievement, by tracking pupil progress and supporting individual pupils’ learning needs, liaising with SLT to report on data and implement intervention strategies.
* Be able to work alongside the Leader of Science to develop/maintain outstanding practice.
We are seeking a Teacher with:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
* Confidence, inclusivity, and passion for their subject
* Strong subject knowledge and familiarity with the UK Curriculum
* An enhanced DBS disclosure or be willing to obtain one through us
* Right to Work in the UK, unfortunately we are unable to offer Visa Sponsorship
