Are you looking for a new job where you can really make a difference and share our values? Then look no further, we're looking for people like you to join us!!
Our fabulous #TeamProvanmill are looking to complete their team and are on the lookout for a motivated and creative female colleague with an understanding nature to join them as a Support Practitioner. This is a 30 hour contract followed by a 9 hour sleepover.
You don't need previous experience in care as a Support Worker or a qualification to start your career with us; we recruit on values and transferrable skills. We'll pay you for your training and give you all the practical skills that you'll need. We'll even fund your SVQ (SCQF level 6/7) qualification and your yearly SSSC registration fee!
The Role
You will be joining a small, dedicated team supporting two women with autism and other complex support needs within their own home. With a focus on maintaining and improving independence, our team provides support with all aspects of daily living, including personal care, preparing meals, managing personal finances, and supporting with medication. Although you'll be working as part of a team, the role will involve occasional lone working so you’ll have to be able to think on your feet and use your own initiative.
There's never a dull day at Provanmill; the two ladies we support love music, dancing, going out for walks, games, and having a good laugh – so, a great sense of humour is essential for anyone joining our team! The ladies also enjoy going swimming, so we would need you to be happy supporting them at the pool.
To be a great Support Practitioner, you will be:
1. a naturally empathetic person with a warm, friendly personality
2. able to demonstrate exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
3. able to build and maintain positive, respectful relationships with different people
4. a team player with great organisational skills
5. competent in the use of technology to enhance the support you provide
6. a good motivator with a positive, can-do attitude
7. reliable and flexible to meet the needs of the people we support
Shift Patterns
Our team provides support twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. Therefore, you will be expected to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, sleepovers, and public holidays as part of your rota.
