This role will involve providing supervision and training to Healthcare Assistant staff working within the Women's Health Hub, and managing a caseload of patients ensuring a high standard of evidence based nursing, gynaecological management and discharge.
This is an exciting opportunity for a Specialist Gynaecology Nurse to help deliver and shape the future of women's health services within the NHS. If you are passionate about improving healthcare outcomes for women and have post registration experience in general or specialist gynaecological services, we would love to hear from you.
Applicants are invited to apply for the post above, to join the Women and Children's Division at Whipps Cross University Hospital. The Division has been rated Good by the CQC and is part of Barts Health NHS Trust, providing Women and Children's Services across East London.
We are looking for an experienced nurse with a commitment to and passion for improving services and outcomes for patients and their families.
Main duties of the job
The Women's Health Hub (WHH) is a community-based integrated women's health and gynaecology service for non-urgent gynaecological conditions, to enable a more efficient patient pathway and flow and to improve patient experience. Referral triage, including advice and guidance, is a cornerstone of this model to ensure the most clinically appropriate care pathway for a patient is identified at the earliest possible stage. It will also support the development of a learning system, for example through feedback to referring clinicians.
The aim of the WHH is to improve access for women and girls to care in the right setting, first time, reduce pressure in secondary care and increase consistency and equity in primary care.
The post-holder will work as a Gynaecological Clinical Nurse Specialist delivering an expert, specialist service to patients presenting in the Women's Health Hub in Waltham Forest. The role includes developing, implementing and evaluating a seamless specialist service ensuring that patients receive the highest standard of clinical care and have access to the full resources of the multi-disciplinary team.
The post holder will be based at the Women's Health Hub working with patients, as well as across Bart's Health focusing on supporting patients/relatives through their treatment.
This will be achieved through clinical practice, management of patient caseload, education, research, audit and professional activities relating to Gynaecological care.
