We’re currently undergoing recruitment for a prestigious client in the Welshpool. This opportunity is for a Logistics Debrief Clerk with a starting rate of £11.44 per hour. The candidate will play a crucial role in supporting logistics and delivery operations by ensuring accurate debriefing of drivers and the processing of delivery documentation. The working hours are as follows:
Monday – Friday
11:00 – 19:00 / 12:00 – 20:00 (Final working hours will be confirmed at interview)
1 Saturday per month on a rota (This is once training is complete)
Main roles and responsibilities:
Conduct debriefs with drivers at the end of their shift or delivery routes to verify completion status, issues encountered, and key details of each delivery.
Document all relevant details from drivers, such as delivery challenges, delays, and customer feedback.
Ensure all delivery paperwork is completed and accurate, including delivery notes, proof of delivery (POD) documents, and customer invoices.
Compile daily reports on completed deliveries, missed deliveries, and other key performance metrics for management review.
Act as a key point of contact between drivers, warehouse staff, and logistics managers.
Escalate issues raised by drivers, such as vehicle problems, delivery discrepancies, or route challenges, to the appropriate departments.
Coordinate with the logistics team to address and resolve delivery or route issues promptly.
Input delivery and driver information into the company’s logistics management systems accurately and in a timely manner.
Track driver performance metrics, delivery times, and compliance with company protocols.
Ensure all processes comply with company policies, health & safety standards, and legal requirements.
Report any incidents, accidents, or near-misses involving drivers to the appropriate authorities.
Assist with general office tasks such as filing, scheduling, and responding to driver queries.
Support the logistics and warehouse team with additional administrative duties as required.
Skills and qualities:
Knowledge of the local area and good geography skills are advantageous
Previous experience in logistics, warehousing, or transport administration is preferred.
Traffic Knowledge is advantageous
Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to interact effectively with drivers, management, and customers.
High attention to detail and strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and ensure all records are accurate.
Competent with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and familiar with logistics or warehouse management software.
Ability to identify issues and escalate them promptly, ensuring smooth logistics operations.
Able to work collaboratively with other team members in a fast-paced environment.
