NBCUniversal's Network Engineering group within the Operations & Technology organization has an exciting opportunity for a Network Engineer to join our small but impactful team based in London. This engineer will play a key role in the design, implementation, and support of network infrastructure crucial to NBCUniversal's global broadcast and media production operations. Working both independently and as part of a team, you will be involved in projects across our global locations. Some of the types of projects that you'll be working on include: - - Supporting global real estate projects for the design and build of network infrastructure to support new offices and office relocations. - Delivering enhancements and new functionality to network services located globally across NBCU. The ideal candidate will be proficient in configuring, deploying, and troubleshooting and will be familiar with utilizing vendor-provided and internally developed automation and monitoring tools. This role requires a proactive individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is comfortable collaborating with colleagues across different locations globally. This role is primarily remote, with occasional office presence required in London for team meetings and project work. Occasional international travel may be required as part of this role. REQUIREMENTS: - Design, configure, deploy, and maintain network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and other network appliances from multiple vendors, with a strong focus on Cisco (IOS, NX-OS, XR), Arista, Palo Alto Networks, and F5 Networks. - Experience of deploying and supporting VXLAN. - Manage and administer Palo Alto Networks firewalls using Panorama, including policy creation, implementation, and maintenance. - Experience of sd-0 - Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, and troubleshooting procedures. - Strong ability in creating High-Level Designs (HLDs) and Low-Level Designs (LLDs) for complex network architectures - Familiarity with network security principles and best practices. - Travel occasionally to support project deployments, remote events, and other business needs. - Analyze network logs, packet captures using tools such as Sevone, Wireshark, Splunk and other data sources to proactively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve network performance and service issues. - Effective communication and collaboration abilities. - Collaborate with other IT teams and vendors to implement new technologies and resolve complex technical problems. - Contribute to network capacity planning and forecasting to ensure network scalability and performance. - Participate in a rotating 24/7 on-call schedule to provide timely support for production network incidents, ensuring minimal disruption to on-air operations. - Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
