Services for young people with Autism spectrum disorders and Complex Needs
Up to £50,000 depending upon experience and qualifications.
Our client is currently looking to recruit a permanent Registered Manager for their autism-specific services, which has two small homes offering residential and supported living services in Corby.
In The Role as a Children’s Home Manager:
You will be accountable for delivering high-quality care to the young people within the home. You will be responsible for the delivery of all care services, as well as the strategic planning for developments within the home, and all day-to-day management matters.
You will demonstrate the ability to build on the well-established principles and practice standards existing within the organisation and proactively contribute to the continuous improvement of social care standards across the company; ensuring quality of service is in line with all Care Quality Commission guidelines, with a vision to ensure continual improvement and development of the service we provide.
You will need to hold a minimum of QCF 4/5 in Leadership or equivalent, and a minimum of 2/3 years of managing a team. Leadership skills and staff supervision are essential. Experience in management of budgets and staff rotas is required. Knowledge and experience of autism is required, with qualification preferred. Organising training will be required, as well as inducting new staff members into the service following the new care certificate guidelines.
You will provide a nurturing approach to both the residents and your team to ensure their continued growth and personal development are of the best quality, to the highest standards, and making sure their individual needs are met.
You will be required to work closely with families, other professionals (CLDT, Care managers, local safeguarding and DOLS teams, etc.), making sure the support and care provided is in the young person’s best interest at all times. You will be required to assess any possible new residents for the service and devise an appropriate individual transition plan. You will be required to seek new and maintain existing contacts to ensure the continuation of the young people's placements, acting as an ambassador for the home and company in general.
Essential Requirements:
1. A minimum of 5 years’ experience in residential care for children in a care home.
2. A minimum of 2/3 years’ experience within a registered manager's role.
3. Understanding, experience, and knowledge/training of Autism essential and complex needs.
4. NVQ Level 5 Management, RMA, or equivalent.
5. Strong leadership skills essential.
6. Full U.K Driving licence/car owner.
