We are looking for: We currently have a vacancy for a Technician in the Materials & Testing team's laboratory.The M&T Lab has a key role in delivering product test data for Aerospace customer qualifications, product re-sites, problem resolution and in support of product development activities.This role will primarily involve the mechanical testing of adhesive and composite materials using various international or customer test standards. The role will also require secondary tasks of physical and analytical testing, composite/adhesive panel fabrication and machining. Training will be provided to a successful candidate who does not have specific mechanical testing experience. However, preference will be shown to candidates who can demonstrate a proven background of operating mechanical test equipment. You will bring: Minimum Skills and Qualifications: - Have 5 GCSE/O-Levels at grade 4/C ( Maths, English and a Science subject) or A Level (Science subject). - Must possess the ability to read English and comprehend technical writing; as found in customer specifications and other relevant documentation. - Computer literate (experience of using Excel & Word). - Experience of working in a team environment. Preferred Skills and Qualifications: - Educated to an HNC/HND (Science /Technology subject) or to a degree level. - Practical experience operating test frames in a mechanical testing environment. - Experience with composite panel fabrication, machining, or using universal test machines (MTS, Instron, Zwick, etc.) and data acquisition software (TestSuite, Bluehill, TestXpert, etc.). - Strong knowledge of composite materials covering a range of matrix & reinforcement technologies. - Working knowledge of ERP systems (SAP®) and LIMS (LabWare®) software. - Three or more years working at an industrial/technology company. ???????
