The primary activity for this role will be supporting service users with their physical health needs including venepuncture, taking Blood Pressure, weight and height and other tasks as required. This will require working across several neighbourhood teams within Cambridge and Ely. The post holder will provide support and care for service users with mental and physical health needs and to their carers within a multidisciplinary setting. They will undertake assigned tasks as a lone worker but with support from a registered nurse, including assisting in assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care. Overcome barriers to understanding, e.g. patients’ with hearing or cognitive impairment. Communicate with patients/carers by exchanging factual information, reassurance, tact and empathy. Establish and maintain appropriate working relationships with colleagues, patients, carers and other health care professionals. Be responsible for ensuring equipment is used safely, following relevant training, and that it is maintained appropriately. Work under guidance on specified tasks, taking direction from registered and non-registered staff as appropriate, with regular clinical support and supervision by a qualified practitioner.
