This is an exciting opportunity to join their close-knit team as we expand, working from their office in Harlow, and visiting sites across London and the Home Counties (very occasionally UK-wide).
About the Role
The business is seeking a motivated and experienced Health and Safety Advisor to lead and enhance health and safety standards across the business. This critical role involves overseeing compliance with all relevant regulations, fostering a strong safety culture, and delivering impactful training to our growing team.
The role will primarily be office-based, with site visits required. Hours will vary between 6:00 am and 4:00 pm.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop, implement, and manage health and safety policies, procedures, and programmes in line with legal and industry standards.
* Conduct risk assessments and audits across sites to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
* Lead investigations into accidents, incidents, and near-misses, implementing preventative measures.
* Deliver engaging and effective health and safety training for staff at all levels.
* Provide expert advice on health and safety matters to employees and management.
* Monitor and report on health and safety performance, preparing actionable insights for senior leadership.
* Stay up to date with legislative and regulatory changes to maintain compliance.
Qualifications and Skills
* Professional certification such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent (essential).
* Proven experience in health and safety management within construction or civil engineering.
* Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders.
* Analytical and problem-solving mindset.
* Familiarity with health and safety management systems and reporting tools.
