Assistant School Business Manager

Thornleigh Salesian College is looking to appoint a full time, permanent Assistant School Business Manager. The Assistant School Business Manager is a wide-ranging role and the successful candidate will have considerable experience in managing financial management systems, budgeting, premises and facilities and Health and Safety along with school administration.
The primary purpose of the role is to support the School Business Manager in managing the strategic financial operations of the school.
The ideal candidate will ideally have an excellent background in school finance and health and safety along with having relevant and practical experience of working in a busy school finance office with practical experience of
Order and invoice processing, preparation of detailed budgets, cash flow monitoring, month-end and year-end procedures, managing official and unofficial funds
Consolidation of financial information for reporting
Analysing and benchmarking school data
Providing training and support on financial systems and being able to explain and communicate complex accounting to non-financial colleagues
Supporting the site team with Health and Safety/Risk Assessments and compliance
Excellent communication and organisational Skills.
The Assistant School Business Manager is responsible to the School Business Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the planning and monitoring of delegated budget to include the entering of spending plans onto the FMS system and producing timely and accurate reports for management purposes. To produce monthly reports for account holders and advise on balances and management of the accounts.
To reconcile bank account / fund for delegated budget and send off monthly/ annual returns to the LA.
To support the site team with Health and Safety and Compliance
To deputise in the absence of the School Business Manager
