The Legal Secretary plays a pivotal role in providing high-quality administrative support to the Private Client department. This role involves client interaction and document preparation, handling matters related to probates, wills, and lasting power of attorney.
The ideal candidate will be highly organised, motivated, and able to manage sensitive information with professionalism.
Duties for this Legal Secretary role include but are not limited to:
1. Dealing with correspondence and ensuring all correspondence and documents are accurately filed in the case management system.
2. Communicating with clients to gather information and update them on case progress.
3. Document Management and Preparation; preparing letters and emails.
4. Initial drafting of basic wills and LPAs.
5. Conducting basic legal research, especially around wills, trusts, and inheritance tax matters.
6. Assisting with the management and administration of trusts.
The successful candidate will have/be:
1. Commercial experience as a Legal Secretary/Assistant in a Private Client practice.
2. A basic understanding and application of Wills and Probate Laws.
3. Previous experience with legal software packages and/or case management systems.
4. Able to work against tight deadlines and have meticulous attention to detail.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and care.
