Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts and work closely with our wider finance team and operational management to provide commercial and financial support. Key Responsibilities Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts for UK&I in line with reporting timetables Produce, analyse, and interpret standard financial reports to reflect a true and fair view of business performance Undertake month-end P&L preparation for review by Finance Business Partners Conduct margin analysis and month-end reconciliations of balance sheet accounts Provide commercial analysis for the division and support cost centre management Assist with budget and reforecast processes in collaboration with Finance Business Partners Support in the preparation of year-end and half-year audit processes Review transactions pre- and post-month end Continuously assess and enhance financial controls and reporting processes Respond to ad-hoc requests from the Finance Manager or Senior Finance Manager Identify and monitor trends within specific areas and implement actions where necessary Collaborate effectively with team members and provide peer support Maintain ongoing professional development and training in line with the role Skills & Competencies Self-motivated and able to work both independently and within a team Strong commercial acumen with excellent analytical skills Ability to meet deadlines in a dynamic environment Confident and assertive communicator Strong problem-solving skills and sound judgement High level of confidentiality and professionalism Good negotiation and stakeholder management skills Qualifications & Experience Actively studying towards a relevant accounting qualification (e.g. ACCA, CIMA) or qualified by experience Experience working within a commercial finance function Familiarity with ERP systems (preferably Microsoft D365, BPC) Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word Previous knowledge of Speedy operational businesses is desirable Excellent communication skills with the ability to adapt to varied audiences What We Offer Flexible hybrid working (home/office balance) 9-day fortnight option to promote a healthier work/life balance 26 days holiday (plus bank holidays) Life assurance Pension Scheme Canteen facilities 95% discount across the Speedy brand Opportunities for training, development and career progression Voluntary Health Cash Plan My Staff Shop: discounts and offers for shopping etc. across many suppliers Green Commute Initiative: Work scheme for cycling Vita – Employee Assistance Program (EAP): Offers free and confidential support and counselling to help you through matters such as wellbeing, divorce, legal, and financial management Interested?
