HGV Technician – Stoke - Nights
Permanent Role - Time served technicians accepted
Salary: £20.58ph plus enhancement payment of up to £300 per month based upon your qualification level.
Shift:
40 hours per week, Monday - Thursday, 20:00 - 06:30
Onboarding Bonus: £2000 (£1K paid in first month’s pay and £1K paid upon successful completion of probationary period)
The Role:
1. Act as an expert for all service work and defined assembly and work of the utmost quality and efficiency, promoting the brand image with respect to reliability and economy.
2. Defined retrofitting of accessories and preservation work.
3. Support the Systems Technicians in more extensive repair jobs on the overall system.
4. Performance of all services according to the manufacturer's instructions and according to the schedule/service processor.
5. All visual inspections, adjustment operations, adjustments, operating fluid changes and additions, replacement of worn equipment (e.g. brake linings).
6. Knowledge of deviations and extraordinary wear occurrences and initiation of order expansions/feedback to customers.
7. Resetting of the maintenance system.
8. Cleaning and care of the customer vehicle.
9. Repair work.
10. Self-reliant performance of simple repairs of worn parts (e.g. replacement of mufflers, outside mirrors, tyres and balancing, etc.).
11. Performance of defined, but also more extensive, assembly work and repair operations in cooperation with and/or under the supervision of Systems Technicians (e.g. major assembly replacement, suspension strut placement, etc.).
12. Retrofitting and start-up of accessories and detachable body components.
Skills & Experience Required:
1. Prior experience in a similar role, in a similar industry or main dealership (desired).
2. Full Level 3 City & Guilds HGV qualifications required (or equivalent) - certified technician in an automotive service field (essential).
3. UK Driving Licence (essential).
4. HGV Licence (desired).
5. Analytical thinking – ability to analyse and synthesise a wide range of information to draw conclusions or make decisions.
6. Customer orientation – ability to focus on the needs of the customer in the execution of the role and work to deliver customer satisfaction.
7. Disciplined work approach - tackles tasks in a structured systematic manner, ensuring completion to plan and to quality standards.
8. Flexibility - adapts and responds to different ways of working in the face of changing situations.
9. Team working - contributes positively to a team to achieve common business objectives.
