Ongar Health Centre are looking to welcome a dispenser into our busy practice, who will play a full and active role as part of our multidisciplinary team. This position is offered on a part-time basis for 21 hours per week with the following shift pattern:
* Monday 08:30 - 17:30
* Tuesday 10:00 - 14:00
* Friday 08:00 - 17:00

Main duties of the job
* Dispensing medicines and collecting prescription charges.
* Maintaining stock levels within the dispensary, liaising with the dispensing manager to facilitate reordering.
* Receiving and storing supplies, ensuring the cold chain is maintained where applicable.
* Ensuring controlled drugs are dispensed in accordance with practice policy.
* Safely disposing of returned and/or out of date medicines.
* Ensuring all repeat prescriptions are processed within a 72-hour timeframe.
* Providing patients with advice regarding all prescription matters.
* Always maintaining a clean and safe working environment.

About us
We are a large, busy training practice, serving a patient population of 12,500 and operating from purpose built premises. We use SystmOne clinical system and are rated Good with CQC.

Experience
* The successful candidate would ideally have an NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services or be willing to work towards this.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
* A clear and polite telephone manner.
* Respectful of patient confidentiality.
* Ability to work well as part of a team and autonomously.
* Previous experience of working within a pharmacy or dispensary is desirable but not essential.
