Our client is currently seeking Electricians and/or persons with suitable Electrical Experience within Street Lighting or similar industry to cover various roles within the Hampshire, West Sussex or Dorset Area.
The Highway Electrician / Electrical Operative will be responsible for the installation, testing and maintenance of street lighting and traffic signs on the highway. This role requires you to be self-motivated, able to work under pressure to deadlines, possess good organisational skills and have the confidence to deal with the public and contractors. You should be a team player with good oral/written communication skills.
Working hours are 6:30 - 4:30 on a 48-hour week, with potential to finish early.
Responsibilities:
* Carry out planned and reactive maintenance, fault finding and repairs.
* Ensure that all lighting equipment is functioning correctly, completing relevant paperwork, and adhering to health and safety regulations.
* Work at heights.
* Testing/Inspection & Verification of Lighting Columns / Signs and Feeder Pillars including underground cable networks.
* Ensure that the results of inspection and testing are recorded correctly on the appropriate certificates or reports.
Minimum Requirements:
* A full UK driving license.
* City and Guilds or NVQ Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installation or a similar field.
* C&G 2391 HESA 714 Electrical Testing.
* IET Wiring Regulations 18th Edition.
* ECS / HERS ECS Card.
* HESA 210 G39 Working in the vicinity of DNO Equipment (Desirable).
* IPAF PAL Category 1B.
* A good understanding of health and safety regulations and a commitment to working safely and efficiently.
* PPE.
* Training available at clients own training centre.
