This is an exciting opportunity to support a once-in-a-generation transformation that will reshape healthcare in the region.
As the Assistant Project Manager for the Enabling Works Programme, you will provide support to ensure the successful planning and delivery of a range of projects. You will work closely with senior project managers, supporting key construction and commercial aspects of the programme to help deliver new, innovative healthcare facilities. Your organisational skills and knowledge will be crucial in contributing to a complex and meaningful development.
Who We're Looking For:
We are seeking an organised and collaborative Assistant Project Manager with experience in construction or project management. Knowledge of NHS or healthcare environments is desirable but not essential. Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders are key to succeeding in this role.
Main duties of the job
* Strategic Support: Assist in delivering construction and commercial aspects of the Enabling Works Programme, ensuring best practices and adherence to NHS sustainability and Net Zero targets.
* Operational Oversight: Support the monitoring and reporting of key milestones and help with the set-up of project teams, budgets, and contracts.
* Leadership: Build strong relationships across teams and facilitate the resolution of project issues, ensuring progress is well communicated.
* Programme Delivery: Support the development of comprehensive delivery plans, business cases, and procurement strategies to ensure successful project delivery.
* Budgetary Support: Assist in managing the £50m programme budget, ensuring value for money and financial compliance.

* Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field.
* Evidence of post graduate diploma level knowledge.
* Evidence of continuing professional development.
* Able to meet the requirements of the Knowledge and Skills Framework for their role.
Desirable
* Knowledge of construction methodologies including Modern Methods of Construction (MMC).
* Sustainability certifications (e.g. BREEAM).
* Formal Project Management qualification.
* Knowledge of healthcare regulation and standards set by CQC.
Experience

* Demonstrable experience of supporting with end-to-end construction processes, including budget and resource compliance, within complex projects and programmes.
* Significant experience of successful collaborative working and partnership development with a wide range of stakeholders and multi-disciplinary teams on complex projects.
* Experience of a variety of project planning and programming techniques.
* Experience of governance and business case approval processes.
Desirable
* Experience of working in the construction industry.
