We’re looking for a passionate Senior Analyst - Finance Business Partner in the Global IT function to support budgeting and forecasting for National Grid’s Global IT organisation and work as part of the Finance Business Partnering team to meet companywide financial and strategic objectives.
You will own the Global IT financial forecasting models, track key metrics, report on financial results, develop and present business commentary and perform ad hoc analyses in support of managing the financials of the Global IT and Digital function.
This role is based out of our Warwick office, and we’d hope to see you at least two days per week but you’re welcome to be in the office more often if that would work best for you. We’re happy to discuss any additional flexibility in working patterns or requirements that you feel could help to make this job work for you!
What You'll Do
1. Support executive leadership and other key customers make sound financial and operational decisions through effective reporting, comprehensive analyses, budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis and effectively communicating key takeaways.
2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop financial models and evaluate the financial impact of various initiatives, projects, and operational changes.
3. Develop strong, collaborative working relationships across teams, functions, and levels.
4. Apply analytical skills, judgement, attention to detail, and creativity to effectively solve problems.
5. Navigate ambiguity, take initiative, and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, balancing the needs of multiple stakeholder groups.
6. Pivot to address ad hoc requests as they arise in an effective and efficient manner.
7. Proactively build relationships and drive accountability.
What You'll Have
8. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Math, Finance, Economics, Statistics, quantitative field or equivalent practical experience; MBA or Master’s degree a plus
9. 3+ years of Finance related experience
10. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
11. Ability to collaborate, iterate, and influence
12. Ability to thrive in a matrix type environment
13. Strong attention to detail
14. Inquisitive and self-starter
15. Ability to synthesize large datasets and develop and/or pressure test comprehensive analysis to inform the business and drive decisions
16. Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
17. Experience with SAP, SAC, Alteryx, PowerBI a plus
18. Financial modelling, data consolidation, data analysis (MS Excel) experience
19. Planning, forecasting, and budgeting knowledge
