About The Role
The Material Manager will be responsible for ensuring materials for production and sales orders are delivered in time within the inventory constraints of the Business.
Responsibilities
1. Placement of purchase orders on suppliers and check order acknowledgements for accuracy.
2. Build up working relationships with suppliers to ensure Prysmian deliveries are front of the queue.
3. Progress overdue orders.
4. Amend lead times on SAP and communicate to the business.
5. Liaise between accounts and suppliers over any discrepancies or booking errors.
6. Raise any rejections and complaints when required.
7. Liaise with purchasing to determine which supplier to place purchase orders on.
8. Optimise inventory to reduce provisions.
9. Be flexible to cover planning roles within the department when required.
10. Ensure end of month/year stock checks are up to date in Goods Inwards and Subcontract stocks at vendors.
11. Interpret MRP to order materials and use Excel to manage the detailed delivery dates/call-offs when required.
12. Liaise with intercompany suppliers and control any factored products.
13. Must gain product knowledge and experience to fully understand the business.
Qualifications & Requirements
1. Self-motivated.
2. Ability to influence.
3. Possess excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
4. Ability to work to deadlines and pressure.
5. Computer literate.
6. Good knowledge of SAP, however not essential as training will be given.
7. Excellent attention to detail is required.
