The Romney, Hythe & Dymchurch Railway is a historic narrow-gauge railway in Kent, England, renowned for its exceptional charm and rich heritage. We are seeking a highly skilled General Manager to lead our team and drive the safe, sustainable development of our railway. Key responsibilities include:
* Leading and developing a diverse team of 60 staff and over 150 volunteers, focusing on their growth and empowerment.
* Ensuring the safe operation of our railway as a major public-facing visitor attraction, prioritizing quality and performance.
* Developing innovative commercial income streams to meet financial targets, while maintaining our unique heritage.
* Leading fundraising efforts to secure a robust future for RH&DR, leveraging our rich history and charm.
* Collaborating with the Board, Supporters' Association, local council, and business community to drive growth and success.
* Maintaining effective safeguarding and building a strong relationship with the Office of Rail and Road (ORR).
