What we’re looking for…
The Engineering Stores Person will be responsible for receiving incoming goods, checking for damage and discrepancies between goods and invoices. Ensure spares, stores and production downtime are kept to a minimum whilst maximising plant efficiency. Manage the delivery and allocation of all parts and ensure work order requirements are fulfilled. Conduct regular audits to ensure accuracy. Maintain relevant business systems to accurately record and manage all aspects of stock management.
Your responsibilities will include...
* Maintaining a safe workplace using Good Warehouse Practices and upholding high standards of housekeeping.
* Maintaining the new stock request process when end users wish to add items to the engineering stores.
* Controlling the ordering, receiving and replenishing process for stock items.
* Returning serviceable parts for repair.
* Coordinating periodic stock reconciliation and maintaining stock accuracy.
* Working with Engineering Team Leaders and line Engineers to highlight critical stock and spares to minimise avoidable downtime.
* Creating a policy and process to control SLOBS.
* Maintaining the stores to clean and tidy standard.
* Looking for development or improvement on products from suppliers.
* Maintaining the stock management system and continually updating as required.
* Housekeeping of the Kardex storage system to ensure accuracy of locations and all work order bins are maintained to the same high standards.
* Leading CI activities to improve processes and standards within the stores areas to improve the “Stores Experience” for our customers, the Engineers.
* Transferring all stock to the new location system within the asset management system, Mainsaver and updating labels.
* Ensuring any spares required to complete PMs & work orders are available and fitted as per PM scheduled date.
* Maintaining and improving budgeted costs of parts and consumables.
* Returning incorrect parts and ensuring credits are issued by suppliers. Parts incorrectly booked out by engineers are returned to stores and booked back into the system in good time.
* Supporting Admin as and when priorities require. Assisting purchasing team with stores purchase order queries.
* Carrying out all duties in accordance with safe working practices, factory hygiene standards, and in line with relevant business and financial processes.
What you’ll bring...
* Excellent organisational abilities to manage tasks efficiently and effectively.
* Experience working in a hands-on role in an engineering environment with a good understanding of engineering components.
* IOSH Working Safely or Managing Safely is preferred but not essential.
* In-depth knowledge of maintenance systems and processes.
* Proven knowledge and experience of initiating and implementing continuous improvements.
* Strong IT skills with the ability to use Google programs and some experience of using CMMS systems.
* Able to communicate effectively to stakeholders at different levels using a variety of written and verbal formats.
* Experience of leading a stores function and managing parts against work orders.
* Attention to detail with a focus on accuracy, ensuring a right first time approach and the ability to spot discrepancies and inaccuracies with ease.
* Completer finisher with a logical and methodical approach.
* Problem-solver, tenacious and innovative in finding satisfactory solutions.
