We are seeking an experienced and motivated Government Affairs Specialist to join our Commercial team and play a pivotal role in influencing government policy, advocating for impactful initiatives, and supporting our business growth in the healthcare sector. As a Government Affairs Specialist, you will be the key link between our organization and government, regulatory, and policy-making bodies. Your work will focus on: Focus Areas: Influencing Policy: Advocating for healthcare policies and regulations that support patient outcomes, innovation, and business growth. Engagement & Advocacy: Building and maintaining strong relationships with government stakeholders, healthcare partners, and industry leaders to amplify our voice and position. Research & Insight: Monitoring healthcare policies, horizon-scanning for opportunities and challenges, and providing actionable insights to guide our strategy. Thought Leadership: Strengthening our brand by identifying and leading events, speaking engagements, and consultation responses to showcase expertise and leadership in the healthcare sector. Strategic Guidance: Supporting the business with policy and regulatory insights that inform marketing, innovation, and operational strategy. Key Responsibilities: Build and nurture relationships with government, regulatory bodies, and healthcare partners. Identify and act on opportunities to influence policy through consultations and advocacy efforts. Research and analyze healthcare policy trends, providing timely insights to senior leadership. Lead and contribute to strategic communication engagements, including public speaking and media outreach. Support marketing and operational teams with policy expertise and communication strategies. About You You are a seasoned professional with: A degree-level qualification in Public Relations, Public Affairs, or Public Policy (or equivalent). Expert understanding of government policy processes, especially in healthcare. Proven experience in policy research, advocacy, and stakeholder engagement. Commercial awareness and strategic thinking to align healthcare policies with business objectives. Exceptional communication skills (written, verbal, and visual) to engage with stakeholders at all levels. A track record of building consistent brand identity and thought leadership through public engagement. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): Number and breadth of active stakeholder relationships. Policy impact and consultation responses delivered. Media engagement and tone. Number of speaking events and thought leadership contributions. Insights provided to inform business strategy and marketing.
