We are looking for a Lead Field Engineer to lead and manage the tree cutting electrical provision team within Ground Control’s operational area with UK Power Networks in EPN. As the lead, the successful candidate will be responsible for delivering their own tree cutting related power outages, as well as being the lead on all other tree cutting outages carried out by a small team of Subcontract SAPs.
This role covers a region across Essex, Suffolk, Hertfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Bedfordshire but we would consider applicants nationwide. The successful candidate will ensure work is completed to the highest possible standards in terms of safety, environment, quality, operational excellence and always drive to provide the best value to Ground Control and its Clients. This role is based on up to 11kV work.
What you will achieve:
1. Efficient and comprehensive planning and delivery of all individual as well as team assigned tree cutting power outages.
2. Apply/Remove/Oversee the application of earths, back feeds and generation when required.
3. Support and drive the delivery of the overall tree cutting power outage programme.
4. Lead and manage the electrical provision team to ensure that all programmes of work are delivered to time and budget and in line with contractual commitments to time, cost and quality.
5. Assist in the management of budgets relating to the electrical provision.
To be successful in this role, you must:
1. Be a Senior Authorised Person with Field Control as defined by the UK Power Networks Distribution Safety Rules.
2. Educated to HNC level qualification in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
3. A broad understanding of UK Power Networks electrical shutdown provision processes, rules and regulations.
4. Ability to identify problems, understand key issues and investigate alternatives.
5. Hold a Full UK Driving Licence.
