First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Maintenance Technician on behalf of one of our clients.
The Maintenance Technician plays an important part in undertaking planned and reactive maintenance work on highways control technology installations throughout Scotland. This includes CCTV, traffic monitoring units, variable message signs, emergency telephones and other in-station and out-station equipment, mainly motorway based.
Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel however all candidates will be given due consideration.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Undertaking inspections and diagnostic checks on highways control technology and electrical assets in line with planned and reactive maintenance.
2. Response to urgent faults and emergency repairs.
3. Completion of planned preventative maintenance and inspections and reporting in line with defined schedules.
4. Ensuring that all work is carried out to current electrical and highway communications standards.
5. You will also be required to work on a standby rota.
Skills and Qualifications:
6. Competent in the use of hand/powered tools and test equipment required to maintain, test and re-commission systems.
7. Due to the nature of this role you must hold a valid driving licence.
8. Ideally you will have a national certificate in an electronic / electrical discipline, and vocational qualifications in the electrotechnical or telecommunications field.
9. In addition to this, it would be desirable if you have field installation and servicing role experience to help you hit the ground running, although this is not essential and training will be provided.
