Job Title: Deputy Manager (Children’s Residential Home)
Location: Woolstone
Salary: £32,042 rising to £33,664 plus an additional £3,000 - £6,000 for sleep-ins
About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Deputy Manager (DM) for a children's residential home in Woolstone. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced professional looking to take the next step in their career within the social care sector. You will be instrumental in ensuring a safe, nurturing, and structured environment for children and young people in care.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support the Registered Manager in the daily operations of the home, ensuring a high standard of care and compliance with OFSTED regulations.
* Lead, mentor, and supervise the care team to promote a positive and supportive work environment.
* Develop and implement care plans, risk assessments, and behaviour management strategies tailored to the individual needs of young people.
* Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed, responding to any concerns appropriately.
* Build and maintain positive relationships with children, families, and external agencies to support holistic care.
* Oversee staff training and development to maintain high levels of competency within the team.
* Participate in the on-call rota and support staff during sleep-in shifts when necessary.
Requirements:
* Experience working with children and young people in a residential setting.
* A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) is preferred but candidates with a Level 3 in Health & Social Care and minimal experience working with children will be considered.
* Strong leadership and organisational skills, with the ability to manage teams effectively.
* Sound understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and relevant social care legislation.
* Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle challenging situations with professionalism.
* Flexibility to work shifts, including sleep-ins.
