Project Manager
£47.00 - £62.02 per hour
Morson have an exciting and varied opportunity to support one of our defence clients as a project manager within their test facilities team. This team support and test software development within the production of marine vehicles. You would be responsible for delivering projects as well as supporting the bid management team. Therefore an experienced project manager within the Aerospace, Defence or Marine industries would be a strong match for this role.
The role is being offered on a 12-month contract, hybrid working Is available with a minimum requirement of 2 days a week on site in Barrow-in-Furness. The team will be looking to grow their permanent workforce over the next 12 months so there will be opportunities to convert into a permanent employee. We can offer the role at a rate £47 per hour PAYE or £62.02 per hour Umbrella inside IR35.
Responsibilities
Be involved with future planning, bid work and improving business capabilities.
Support the development of new capabilities to support the platform through to operation.
Support and lead on Bid proposals to the Alliance.
Identify, assesses and manage risks to the success of the project.
Applies appropriate PM methods and tools whether predictive approaches or adaptive approaches.
Prepare realistic plans and track activities against the project schedule.
Input to a Customer proposal.
Manage risks and opportunities.
Essential Requirements
Experience of PM governance and assurance processes such as Integrated Baseline Reviews (IBRs).
Experience of influencing, communicating with and managing stakeholders.
Experienced Project Manager with extensive knowledge of tools, techniques and practices.
Able to follow established procedures as well as know when to break from them to problem solve.
Experience of operating in a bid management/customer proposal focused project within an Aerospace, Defence, Marine or Nuclear environment.
Developed communication and diplomacy skills with internal and external stakeholders.
Able to understand and follow policies, procedures and business plan.
Professional PM Qualification or years of practical experience gained through application of Project Management.
Desired Requirements
An Assessor for LCM Reviews, including the Bid life cycle.
University level education or professional qualifications gained through industry.
Recognised as a Project Management practitioner.
Experience across the project lifecycle of both business winning and in-service support.
Been involved with a project where the MoD is the primary customer.
Recognising the RESTRICTED nature of the work, suitable candidates will need to be SC cleared or eligible for this level of clearance before starting on site
