Job Summary: The Project Manager (Temporary Works and Prelims) will initially work supporting the establishment of the projects infrastructure. These works will be to deliver the projects temporary works from surveys planning to main works completion. These works are to be delivered in compliance with the Mace Dragados JV HS&W processes and procedures and to bring the best quality and commercial betterment for the project. Key Responsibilities: Manage station temporary works planning, procurement and implementation. Ensure information is provided for temp works design brief, temp works lifecycle programme is developed, coordinated and implemented. Coordinate with SPMs to plan temporary works required to support the delivery of the station packages. Engage with temp works coordinator and engineering team for the design of temp works. Drive procurement of temp works implementation. Manage cost, forecast and change of temporary works. Support the co-ordination between the construction, design, procurement and commercial departments to ensure the Foundations, Excavation and Viaducts RIBA 3 design review is carried out, opportunities are explored and developed, and supply chain is engaged to explore opportunities and optimise the works target price. Ensure sub-contracts are awarded and work started in accordance with the schedule of works. Work closely with the rest of the delivery team to develop a Stage two programme and target price, planning for the works and launch the safe systems of work in accordance with the Construction Phase Plan Be responsible for providing information to the Construction Lead for both short form and long form report outlining the progress of the Foundations, Excavation and Viaducts works, actual cost, forecast and highlighting any problems and issues for resolution. Attend delivery meetings with HS2 Senior Project Managers (and deputise for the Construction Lead as required) To create a high performing Foundations, Excavation and Viaducts team through the setting of clear SMART targets via the team plan and complying with the performance management process for all team members. Promote and deliver a collaborative environment throughout all members of the team including stakeholders and the supply chain. Establish and maintain site organisation and facilitate effective communications between the Employers representatives Receipt of instruction from the client Construction Manager. Ensure a clear understanding of levels of authority to receive instructions by the client Construction Manager or Supervisor and receipt of other contractual communication within the team and supply chain Technical Skills and Competencies: Experience of planning and delivering construction on major projects and programmes in regulated environments, predominantly around logistics and site facilities. Have excellent communication (written and verbal), management and organisational skills. A good working knowledge of the Health and Safety regulations and other relevant legislation. A track record of delivery within a project / programme or construction management function that has led to performance improvement e.g., cost reduction, process/service enhancements, innovation, winning work etc. Have an excellent track record of project delivery: safely, to timescale, quality and cost. Have demonstrable experience of leadership, building and motivating teams. Demonstrate excellent presentation, negotiation skills organisational skills, ability to plan and manage own time.
