Bio Capital are a growing renewables company with numerous sites based throughout the UK, creating renewable electricity, natural fertiliser and renewable gas. The Head of Projects will not only need to be an exceptional hands-on Project Manager, but also have outstanding Management skills and lead an experienced Projects Team. With a process driven approach the role holder will establish and manage a commercial approach to delivering major projects. The role holder shall proactively manage a team comprising of Project Managers, Consultants and Engineers. The focus for this role will be establishing and managing commercially focused business processes, the management of personnel including being a point of escalation, helping to mitigate project risks and embedding appropriate governance to allow assurance to be provided to the Exec Team and the Board. Key Responsibilities • To lead by example in the Company’s high standards of best practice for Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental standards in all actions and tasks. • Coordinating internal resources and vendors for the flawless execution of projects • Ensuring that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget • Monitoring build progress, overseeing finance and ensuring project quality • Making strategic decisions and providing leadership and direction to project managers to implement those decisions • Meeting with clients, stakeholders and project managers to report on project progress • Managing clients and stakeholders and building strong working relationships • Devising cost-effective plans to enable effective project completion • Managing risks to avoid delays or reputational damage • Ensuring permits and legal papers are secured ahead of the project • Managing project team and enabling them to supervise and manage their own teams • Working in an office and on a site • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects • Ensure resource availability and allocation • Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule and costs • Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques • Report and escalate issues to CTO / SLT as needed • Perform risk management to minimise project risks • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation • With the Senior Leadership Team to develop, implement and maintain the Company Strategic Plan. • To undertake any other reasonable task requested.
