Deputy Manager Job Description

Main Purpose of the Job:
* Work alongside the Registered Manager to manage the service's existing workforce and resources, and promote and safeguard the welfare of the young people in our care.
* Assist the manager in achieving the aims and objectives of the Statement of Purpose.
* Deputise in the absence of the Registered Manager.
* Support and manage the staff to enable them to meet the needs of the young people.
* Undertake direct work with young people as appropriate.
* Be the responsible person in managing child protection concerns and complaints.
* Work in partnership with other professionals to achieve the best outcomes for young people.
* Ensure that resources are allocated appropriately, and financial records are accurately maintained.
Person Specification:
* A good standard of literacy and numeracy.
* NVQ 3 / Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
* Residential Experience.
* Team Building and Supervision Skills.
* Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
* Understanding the needs of young people who have experienced trauma, including managing challenging behaviours.
* Good organisational skills.

* Monday to Friday 9am - 5.30pm (flexibility to cover other shifts when necessary).
