Compensation: £45,000 to £58,000 Basic salary (experience dependent)

A world leading manufacturer of rotating equipment and mechanical components for applications throughout numerous industrial sectors including Chemical, Oil & Gas, Food and Beverage, Pulp and Paper, Mining, Process, Defence, Power, Wastewater and Pharmaceutical. Established for many years, they are a global leader in rotating equipment with a multimillion turnover operating across the World. They manufacture products, systems and solutions that enhance pump efficiency and reliability and significantly reduce maintenance downtime and cost.
Role Overview: Reporting directly to the UK Sales Manager, the successful candidate will take responsibility for business activities throughout the Northwest of England and North Wales region. You will manage this area taking responsibility for Account Management and new client acquisition. This will involve 70% strategic key account management of existing clients and 30% new business activity. There is a diverse client base in this region, and you will be selling and working within a multitude of industrial, process and manufacturing environments. This is technical solution selling, requiring a mechanical engineering aptitude, alongside being an articulate and dynamic salesperson.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage existing accounts and acquire new clients.
2. Conduct regular customer visits throughout the sales region.
3. Report all sales and quotation activity on a monthly basis.
4. Work closely with internal sales engineers for technical support.
The Candidate:
1. External sales experience from an associated sector (i.e., mechanical seals, rotating equipment, pumps, valves).
2. Mechanical Engineering Background.
3. Full knowledge of rotating equipment and mechanical seals is highly beneficial.
4. Understanding of Rotating Equipment: pumps, motors, gearboxes, compressors, seals, etc.
5. Strong strategic thinker with exceptional ability to develop relationships, manage key accounts, and develop new business.
6. Eye for upselling / cross selling opportunities.
7. Excellent communication skills to engage with a variety of stakeholders.
8. Proven track record of business to business sales.
9. Dynamic “can do” attitude and enthusiasm for sales.
10. An engineering qualification is advantageous but not essential.
11. A mechanical engineering apprenticeship is desirable.
12. Extensive product training will be provided.
