People in Action is excited to offer a fantastic opportunity within our Changing Lives Service as a Group Support Worker.
We're seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our team and provide person-centred support for adults with learning disabilities and/or autism. In this role, you’ll work alongside our group lead and volunteers to support our members in developing their social skills and engaging in weekly activities. These activities are planned collaboratively by both the members and group staff, fostering a sense of ownership and empowerment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support Learning Disabled and Autistic Adults a group setting.
• Assist in running weekly sessions to enhance social skills, confidence, and independence.
• Collaborate with the group lead and volunteers to ensure a positive and engaging experience for all participants.
Who We're Looking For:
• A committed individual with at least 6 months of experience in a care or support work setting.
• Experience in group settings is a plus, but not essential.
• A genuine passion for helping others and supporting their personal growth.
• Ability to work as part of a team and contribute to the success of the group.
Details:
• Salary: £11.44 per hour
• Hours: Thursday evenings, 6:30 PM - 9:30 PM
• Location: Crossgates Community Centre, Maryfield Ave, Crossgates, Leeds, LS15 7TU
