Their unique wellbeing team—comprising a Health Improvement Practitioner, Health Coach, and Support Worker—provides free, same-day support for enrolled patients, addressing mental, emotional, and physical health needs. WORKING HOURS:
The clinic is open from 8:00 am to 5:30 pm Monday to Friday. The Medical receptionist will be required to work permanent part-time assignment across these operational hours.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Reception
o Professionally greet and assist patients and visitors.
o Efficiently manage patient flow.
o Handle phone calls, messages, and appointments accurately.
o Provide courteous assistance and escalate inquiries when necessary.
o Keep patients informed about wait times and emergencies.
o Monitor and promptly address patient needs in the waiting room.
* Accounting
o Accurately handle patient invoices and claims.
o Process payments and manage banking tasks.
o Complete various forms and maintain document accuracy.
* Privacy and Security
o Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to security protocols.
* Comply with all health and safety procedures and protocols.
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA:
Qualifications, Skills, and Knowledge
* Post-secondary qualification (Desirable).
* Experience in medical reception or administration (Desirable).
* Customer service background, Kiwi Host or similar training (Advantageous).
* Excellent customer service, communication, and numerical skills.
* Experience with cash handling and payments.
* Experience working in fast-paced and high-demand environments.

* Demonstrates empathy, tolerance, and understanding, especially with distressed patients.
* Effective time management and adaptability.
* Strong interpersonal skills, negotiation, conflict management, and problem-solving abilities.
* Someone committed to health equity and cultural competency and can demonstrate an understanding of Tikanga Māori, Kawa Māori, and Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
Other Requirements
* Proof of legal right to work in New Zealand (Essential).
* NZ Driver's license (Desirable).
