As a Substance Misuse Nurse, you will play a vital role in helping people regain control of their lives, grow as individuals, and reach their full potential. Working within a dedicated multidisciplinary team, you will deliver specialist clinical interventions to those accessing our services. Location: York Hours: 22.5 hours per week (Part-Time) Actual Salary Range: £22,310.95 - £23,935.15 (dependent on experience) What You’ll Do Conduct physical and mental health assessments and refer patients to primary or secondary healthcare services as needed. Provide education, health promotion, and screening for blood-borne viruses (BBV), including Hepatitis B vaccinations. Contribute to CGL’s Naloxone Strategy, training staff and patients in its use and ensuring distribution at every opportunity. Build supportive, therapeutic relationships with people facing substance use challenges. Promote best practices in line with UK Clinical Guidelines, NICE guidance, and CGL clinical protocols. Offer harm reduction advice, distribute safe injecting equipment, and ensure its safe disposal. Maintain accurate patient records to support service delivery and compliance. What We’re Looking For Registered Nurse with a current NMC PIN and relevant post-qualification experience. Experience in drug and alcohol treatment (desirable but not essential). Strong knowledge of harm reduction and health promotion. Ability to assess and create recovery plans, with excellent written communication skills. A professional, empathetic, and non-judgmental approach. Understanding of professional integrity in relationships with patients, colleagues, and external partners.
