Internal Operations Administrator at Southern Brooks Community Partnerships - Coniston Community Center
We're looking for one full-time or two part-time Community Development Coordinators to join our energetic, passionate Community Development team. Based in Patchway or Brabazon - a growing community on the site of the old Filton Airfield - you will work with local residents, agencies, and partners to bring people together through activities and events to ensure Patchway and Brabazon are great places to live.
Being out and about in the community, there's a huge range of fun and exciting things that you will be involved in, and no two days are the same.
Responsibilities
* Provide community leadership working in partnership with local groups.
* Raise funding to support community development.
* Engage and involve people, agencies, and partners so that people feel they can influence decision making and that their voice is important.
* Advocate volunteering by sharing best practice and supporting people to access local opportunities.
* Coordinate multi-agency community development in Patchway.
* Be a community “go to” person for information, support, and volunteering opportunities.

Essential unless stated
Education & Qualifications
* Qualification in Community Development or similar (Desirable).
* An understanding of community development practices and principles.
* Knowledge of the issues and opportunities facing local communities.
Knowledge and Experience
* Significant experience of work (in a paid or voluntary capacity) within communities.
* Experience of working with volunteers including understanding how to motivate and retain volunteers.
* Understanding of Asset Based Community Development principles.
* Experience of creating community ownership and empowerment (Desirable).
* Experience of multi-agency working (Desirable).
* Experience of coordinating meetings (Desirable).
* Experience of delivering projects, events, and community activities (Desirable).
Job Related Skills
* Excellent communication skills in written, telephone, and face-to-face contact with the ability to communicate effectively with the public, staff from a wide range of community groups, officers of the Council, and local Councillors.
* Ability to build good relationships.
* Ability to work on own initiative and prioritize workload.
* Good IT skills.
