SEN Teaching Assistant (KS1)
Location: Harborne, Birmingham B17
Day Rate: £95 - £105
Days: Monday to Friday (Term Time Only)
Hours: 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM
Start Date: 24/02/2025
Contract: Long-Term, Temp to Perm
Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children with SEN? Do you specialise in Key Stage 1 and want to make a real impact?
Long Term Futures are working with a well-regarded primary school in Harborne, seeking a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team after February half-term. This long-term role will continue until the end of the academic year, with the potential for a permanent position for the right candidate.
Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN in Key Stage 1
- Adapt learning activities to ensure all students can access the curriculum effectively
- Deliver targeted interventions, including phonics and reading support
- Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents to create a nurturing environment
- Support children with ASD, ADHD, and SEMH, promoting engagement and well-being
- Work collaboratively with teachers to enhance learning experiences within the classroom
The ideal candidate will have:
- A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or degree
- Experience working with Early Years or Key Stage 1 pupils
- Previous experience supporting students with special educational needs
- Strong understanding of phonics and early literacy support
