Job overview
We want to recruit a competent and confident Band 5 Speech & Language Therapist to work with us across various sites in our paediatric SALT team. This friendly, welcoming and outcomes-focused team works from bases in Settle, Skipton, Ilkley, Keighley and Bingley, as part of our wider integrated Children's Therapies (SALT, OT and PT) service across the Airedale area.
We would love to hear from you if you have completed your RCSLT competencies and have proven skills in working with and managing a paediatric speech and language therapy caseload, but will consider more recently qualified therapists. You will need to be able to demonstrate your experience and/or confidence in working with a range of health and other professionals, as well as with families.
You will enjoy excellent support networks, peer review/supervision and a strong commitment to providing quality, outcomes-based services; you'll benefit from our compassionate approach to personal and professional development, within our friendly and enthusiastic Children's Therapies service.
Main duties of the job
* To prioritise, plan and deliver clinical case work within Paediatric Speech and Language Therapy with support and supervision of a senior therapist.
* To apply evidence-based knowledge and skills to the Paediatric Speech and Language Therapy service.
* To work in partnership with patients, carers, the MDT, and wider statutory, private and voluntary sector services.
* To work with team members to ensure the effective functioning of the team.
* To participate in quality improvements to improve the Children’s Therapy service.
* Contribute to student training and development.
In pursuing these duties, the post holder will ensure compliance with the NHS Constitution and the Trust’s Right Care strategy.

Qualifications
* Degree in Speech and Language Therapy
* State registration with the Health Care Professions Council
* Completion of RCSLT competencies
* Member of relevant Professional special interest groups/organisations
Skills
* Paediatric speech and language therapy assessment skills
* Able to make clinical decisions
* Evidence of teamworking
* Evidence of self-organisation
* Evidence of written presentation skills
* Evidence of involvement in service development
* Evidence of self-awareness of own development needs
Experience
* Experience in a variety of paediatric clinical settings
* Experience of multidisciplinary team and collaborative working
* Experience in use of digital tools to support clinical work

Knowledge
* Knowledge of a range of paediatric assessments
