Exciting opportunity to join a service that is seeking to develop and strengthen ERCP nursing workforce as a single managed service in MFT. The post holder will co-ordinate and organise the inpatient and outpatient referrals for ERCP providing nursing expert support, information and advice to patients and their families, relatives and carers. The post holder will facilitate communication and act as liaison between the referrer, MDT, clinicians, ward staff and endoscopy unit staff.
The individual will develop and maintain safe pathways for patients who require Endoscopy Procedures on GA/Deep Sedation lists ensuring that the patients have attended for pre-operative/anaesthetic assessment.
To facilitate the safe efficient and optimal use of ERCP sessions. The post holder is expected to provide nurse led consent for inpatients and outpatients where appropriate.
You will be based at Manchester Royal Infirmary, though you may be required to work across sites as part of a Single Managed Service. An ability to work autonomously and be adaptable, responding quickly and balancing competing demands is essential.
Main duties of the job
You will possess excellent communication skills and be able to balance competing demands while coordinating ERCP referral waiting lists for endoscopic examination following medically agreed protocols and criteria supporting prioritisation. Attention to detail is key; the postholder will be responsible for stent register maintenance and planning follow procedures. You will liaise with all members of the MDT, facilitate teaching of ward staff, patients, families and carers regarding all aspects of HPB disease and ERCP. In conjunction with the audit team, you will record data, compile results, and present them to relevant members of the MDT. A dynamic, flexible individual with advanced IT, administrative and organisational skills is required, ideally with a minimum of three to four years of experience in Endoscopy nursing and a keen interest in developing clinical skills and knowledge. Most of all, you will need to be kind and caring to support patients and loved ones during times of anxiety and worry and advocate for your patients.

Qualifications
* Educated to Diploma level
* Practice assessor/supervisor
* Speciality qualification in Hepatobiliary (HPB) or Endoscopy
* Working towards or willing to undertake a degree
* Non-Medical Prescribing
Experience
* Relevant acute experience in a Hepatobiliary (HPB)/speciality
* Evidence of delivering teaching programmes to staff/patient groups
* Recent evidence of continuing professional and personal development, both clinical and managerial.
* Portfolio of evidence showing achievements in practice/Speciality
* Evidence of working with members of the MDT
* Service Improvement/IQP
* Previous experience at Band 6
* Trained in phlebotomy/IV Therapy
* Clinical Nurse Specialist Experience
* Knowledge of local and national issues affecting service delivery.
* Completed QIP
Skills
* Good oral and written communication skills with people from a wide variety of backgrounds
* Good knowledge of clinical information systems such as ICE, Chameleon, EPR, Medisec
* Demonstrates ability and knowledge on how to undertake audit and feedback to clinicians
* Demonstrates knowledge of research-based practice
* Competent in use of IT packages such as Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
* Sage and Thyme communication skills
* Consenting patients for procedures
* Awareness of Endoscopy Reporting
* Competent in databases and spreadsheets.
* Evidence of audits undertaken and outcomes
