Court of Protection, Associate – Senior Associate

We are seeking an Associate or Senior Associate to join our dynamic Court of Protection Team, with opportunities to collaborate with our Clinical Negligence, Personal Injury, and Special Educational Needs teams. What you’ll do
1. Manage a range of Court of Protection matters, including protecting and managing the property and financial affairs of clients.
2. Support brain-injured and vulnerable clients, handling trust management, tax affairs, and statutory wills.
3. Provide expert legal advice in line with the Mental Capacity Act and attend clients in hospitals, homes, and care facilities.
4. Manage your own caseload and build expertise in deputyship work.
5. Assist senior team members on complex and high-value matters.
6. Work with deputies appointed by the Court of Protection and advise on best interest decisions regarding client finances.
What we’re looking for
You will possess extensive experience in handling Court of Protection matters, including court proceedings and the overall management of clients’ property and affairs. Ideally, you will have worked with clients who have received damages for personal injury or clinical negligence and who may have complex care needs. Additionally, you will demonstrate excellent drafting and communication skills.
