M&G is committed to enhancing our digital channels to engage with our customers and advisers and we are growing our design practice by looking to bring onboard a creative senior digital design manager.
We’re looking for a visionary leader who has a passion for design, a proven track record, and who can inspire their team to create innovative and visually stunning digital experiences.
If you can think strategically, drive design direction, and bring user-centric interfaces to life, aligned to our brand identity together with leading a team and developing a universal design system, then this could be the role for you.
As this is a senior position, you will lead on creative projects, mentor and develop talent, along with being the champion of user experience, working across the wider digital team, and collaborating with marketing channel teams as well as wider stakeholders across M&G.
Responsibilities
* Lead the design team in developing innovative solutions to meet the goals of our audiences, developing creative solutions to solve problems across our digital channels.
* Generate design concepts together with creative problem solving utilizing user-centric design methods to design user interfaces that are easy to use and visually appealing.
* Own the digital design system, the library and go-to place for all elements of digital design, ensuring it benefits others who will utilize the standards that your team defines.
* Develop solutions that utilize alternative engagement methods including the use of generative or agentic AI to build new methods in design thinking.
* Work across the digital ecosystem, supporting all digital channels across web, social, digital media, email, and data visualization to ensure consistency in design language across core audiences.
* Collaborate in conjunction with the Head of Content, to implement content activation and dissemination guidelines to optimize key audience messaging.
* Collaborate with Senior Digital Experience Manager and Senior Digital Channels Manager to ensure design is at the forefront of user engagement.
* Actively manage the design backlog, working with front-end developers and testers on feature design and development, ensuring interaction design guidelines are followed stringently.
* Collaborate across marketing business channels to ensure digital design standards are incorporated into go-to and take-to-market briefs, ensuring agencies follow digital standards.

* You possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills, the ability to write with a clear, concise, and engaging purpose.
* You know how to develop and implement effective content strategies across a range of social channels.
* You’re a creative thinker, someone who can generate innovative ideas and convey them to get everyone to buy into your vision.
* You’re able to visually storyboard concepts, aligned to content execution and can brief your ideas to generate artwork, video, or infographics to maximize content narrative.
* You understand data triggers and can work with analysts to develop impactful dashboards to highlight and convey impact, engagement, and conversion.
* You’ve solid problem-solving skills that you use to identify and address challenges.
* You’re effective at time management and can balance multiple tasks and deadlines.
* You’re autonomous in managing your workload and making decisions while ensuring you engage across teams with your communication.
* You have a wider appreciation of the connected digital ecosystem, from SEO to websites, and you can work across teams to align content messaging.
