About the role
In your role as Product Development Officer you will make a meaningful and valued contribution from the outset. This role will provide a great opportunity to support the delivery of the Pensions Business’ product development offer in accordance with the requirements of the strategy and proposition, ensuring the member experience and product capabilities are aligned and operationalised across the business’ technical, operational and channel architecture.
What you will be doing
As a trusted part of the Pensions Solutions and Control you will:
* Provide input to the solutioning and delivery of pension platform requirements, particularly those regarding member journey design.
* Collaborate with Strategy & Stakeholder Engagement colleagues in the development of the Pensions Business’ strategy and proposition development, and the adequacy of member insights.
* Provide input to how the proposition will be operationalised across all aspects of Pensions Delivery including day to day operations and service management.
* Interpret the high-level requirements and target outcomes relating to proposition development and develop detailed product requirements in accordance with the product development process.
* Define product solutions in fulfilment of the proposition requirements including, when relevant, mapping of to-be member journeys.
* Demonstrate how the product solution fulfils the proposition requirements.
* Provide key technical and subject matter expertise input to the development and delivery of product options and solutions to ensure the objectives of the proposition are met, are regulatory compliant, based on best practice and meet the needs of members, institutions and other key stakeholders.
* Undertake or input to RfP for external services when required.
* Ensure development of product options progress in accordance with agreed priorities, objectives and strategy.

* Experience of workplace pensions, their policies and procedures covering both defined benefit and defined contribution pensions.
* Knowledge of pension products and market offerings.
* Knowledge of pension scheme’s rules and policies.
* Experience of implementing change.
* Ability to build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
* Strong team player with the ability to influence colleagues.
* Creative thinker, able to devise effective engagement strategies for multiple, diverse stakeholders.
* Understanding of members, employers and stakeholders needs.
* Excellent organisation and planning skills.
* Strong presentation and communication (verbal and written) skills.
